The Life of V. Ray Guillory

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 21, 2008 at 2:30 PM in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Ray Guillory, 78, who died Saturday, April 19, 2008 in Jennings, LA after a battle with pneumonia.

Reverend Kevin Bordelon, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church will officiate the funeral services.

Mr. Guillory, the son of the late Joe Guillory and the former Fanny Fusilier, was a native of Elton, LA. He was born January 28, 1930. He graduated from Eunice High School and then joined the U. S. Air Force and served in Korea. After his military service, he obtained a bachelor''s degree from Northwestern State University of Louisiana. He retired from Uniroyal Tire Company as a regional sales manager after 30 years of service. He was an avid golfer and active member of St. Mary''s Knights of Columbus having served as the Council treasurer. Ray was loved by everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his sons, Michael and Annette Guillory of Panama City, Fl, John and Brigid Guillory of Lafayette, LA, Paul Guillory of Colorado Springs, CO; his grandsons, Sean and Seth Guillory of Lafayette; his brother, Jerry Guillory of Spokane, WA; his sister, Dovie Brown of Eunice, LA; numerous nieces and nephews and his special friend Joan Ledoux of Iota, LA.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, the former June Patricia Foss; his parents and his brother, James Guillory.

Visiting hours will be observed Monday from 1:00 pm to the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Knights of Columbus Alleman Center Cafeteria Fund, for the mentally challenged children, 303 New Hope Road, Lafayette, LA 70506.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
