The Life of Dewey Elmer Owens

Graveside services were held Monday, April 7, 2008 at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery for Dewey Elmer Owns, 86, who passed away Sunday, April 6, 2008 in New Caney, TX.

Mr. Owens, the son of the late James Clinton Owens and the former Annie Lee Beavers Owens, was a native of Oklahoma and a lifelong resident of Lafayette. He served in the military with the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. He was owner/operator of Owen''s Manufacturing and inventor of the Owen''s Kleen Tank. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will be dearly missed by all.

Survivors include his wife, Israel B. Owens of New Caney, TX; two daughters, Sandra G. Smith of Lafayette, and Renee G. Rebouche of Humble, TX; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two brothers, J.C. Owens of Springfield, MO, and Wilburn Owens of Spirit Lake, ID.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Clinton and Annie Lee Beavers Owens and two sisters.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette is in charge of funeral arrangements.
