The Life of Mildred Sinicrope

Mildred Bowels Sinicrope, our loving mother, journeyed home on Veterans Day, November 11, 2007.
Funeral services will be held at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, November 15, 2007 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers in Lafayette.

Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest next to her loving husband, Don Sinicrope.

Our mother, Ma M''re, will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her. She was a devoted wife, and a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. With her strong faith, her family learned the power of prayer.

A former Marine, Mickey served in World War II and was stationed at Pearl Harbor. She graduated from Lafayette High School and attended USL, the former SLI, Southwest Louisiana Institute. She was a member of the sorority Alpha Sigma Alpha, and a very active leader in the Lafayette chapter of the American Business Women''s Association. Her career was as co-owner of Rich & Associates Employment Agency in the Oil Center. She was also active in the Women''s Alter Society at Holy Cross Catholic Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Simmons and husband, Walter of South Pasadena, California, and Louise Price and husband, Timothy of Seabrook, Texas; four grandchildren, Deborah Verdugo and husband, Michael, David Simmons and wife, Nancy, Susan Maloney and husband, Sean, and Devon Price; and three great grandchildren, Andrea Zuniga, Andrew Simmons, and Aubrey Musquiz.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry Bowles and Irene Bienvenu Bowles; her husband, Don F. Sinicrope; and her sister, Doris Smith.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and continue Thursday from 8:00 am until time of service.

Brother Francis will recite a rosary at 7:00 pm on Wednesday in the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Tim Price, Walt Simmons, David Simmons, Michael Verdugo, Sean Maloney, and Buddy Bowles.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers Cindy, Evella, Kathy, Renada, Linda, Mary, and Matilda for being her ''angels'' in the last year of her life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in the name of Mildred Sinicrope to the Priest Retirement Fund c/o The Diocese of Lafayette, 1408 Carmel Drive, Lafayette, Louisiana 70501.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, will be in charge of the arrangements.
