The Life of Malcolm Phillip Kraus Jr.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2007 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pius X Catholic Church for Malcolm Philip "Buck" Kraus, Jr., age 66, who passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at his residence in Lafayette.Reverend Steve LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the Funeral Services.Interment will be in Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery. Buck was born February 23, 1941 in New Orleans, Louisiana. He grew up in New Orleans and Houma and resided in Morgan City before moving to Lafayette thirty one years ago.He attended Holy Cross Academy in New Orleans and graduated in 1959 from Terrebonne High School. Buck attended McNeese State in Lake Charles and was a member of the McNeese Cowboy Football Team from 1959-1963. He played on the 1961 and 1963 Championship Teams and after graduation he coached football at several Louisiana High Schools. In 1976, he began his career in oilfield sales. Buck was very successful and well respected within the industry. He was an avid supporter of the McNeese Football program and the LSU Football program where he was a top 100 Tiger Athletic Foundation Member.Buck loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed the many hours he spent riding his bike at Red''s. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.Survivors include his beloved wife of 31 years, Peggy Lambert Kraus of Lafayette; one daughter, Alaina Catherine Kraus of Lafayette; four sons, Malcolm P. Kraus III and his wife, Bridgette of Lafayette, Michael Kraus and his wife, Merzi of Lake Charles, Mark Kraus and his wife, Kristi of Lake Charles and Kevin Fromenthal of Lafayette; two sisters, Katherine Kolb and her husband, Tom of Norcross, Georgia and Charlotte Duplantis and her husband, C.D. of Valdosta, Georgia; his grandchildren, Haley Kraus of Lafayette, Olivia and Caroline Kraus of Lafayette, Nicholas Kraus of Lake Charles and now serving in Iraq, Madeline Kraus of Lake Charles, Khoury Kraus, Mackenzie Kraus and Laken Diamond, all of Lake Charles; many nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Adams and her husband, Herbert of Morgan City and Sandra Meranta and her husband, Steve of Denham Springs; two brothers-in-law, Glenn Lambert and his wife, Susan of Lafayette and Ernest Lambert and his wife, Ann of Morgan City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm Philip Kraus and Catherine Donovan Kraus. A Rosary will be prayed Friday evening at 6:00 PM in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home.The family requests that visitation be observed Friday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of the Funeral Mass.Pallbearers will be his four sons, Malcolm Kraus III, Michael Kraus, Mark Kraus, Kevin Fromenthal, and also his friends, Ladon Miller and Butch Scelfo.Honorary Pallbearers are Herbert Adams, Harry "Booger" Roth, Rocky Scelfo, Nick Scelfo and Hank Perret.In addition to flowers, donations can be made to St. Pius Elementary School, 200 East Bayou Parkway, Lafayette, Louisiana 70508 and The Academy of Sacred Heart, P.O.
