The Life of Myrtle Catherine Brooks
Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 3:00 PM in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery for Myrtle Catherine Theriot Brooks, 82, who passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2007 at her residence in Lafayette.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery in Lafayette.Reverend Steve LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church, will officiate the graveside services.Survivors include her beloved husband, Kenneth Robert Brooks of Lafayette; two daughters Marjorie Rita Brooks and Ednamae Theresa Brooks Sahuc; one son Arthur Joseph Brooks; five grandchildren Anne Catherine Sahuc, Peter Sahuc, Jr., Camille Sahuc, John Sahuc, Joseph Francois Brooks; and two sisters Dorothy M. Rhotenberry and Annie Mary Smith.She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur Joseph Theriot, Sr. and Edna Theresa Belliveau Theriot; two sisters Edna Mae Zaunbrecher and Marjorie Rita Theriot; three brothers Arthur Joseph Theriot, Jr., Roland A. Theriot, and Louis Theriot; and one son Hubert William Brooks.A native of Baldwin, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for over 50 years Mrs. Brooks was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She was a member of the St. Pius X Catholic Church Community. Mrs. Brooks enjoyed, gardening, and spending time with her family, friends and beloved pets. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.Pallbearers will be Kenneth Robert Brooks, Arthur Joseph Brooks, Joseph Francois Brooks, Peter Sahuc, Jr., Pat Daly, and Joseph R. Streva, Jr. Honorary Pallbearer will be John Sahuc.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Mrs. Brooks' name to Hospice of Acadiana 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200 Lafayette, Louisiana 70506.
