The Life of Rose Mouton

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at a 2:00 PM service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Rose Himel Mouton, 51, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at her residence in Broussard. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery in Lafayette. Reverend John DeLeeuw, will officiate the services. Survivors include her beloved husband, Walter "Rob" Mouton, Jr.; one son, Bobby Lee Champagne of Kinder, LA.; one grandchild, Jessie Champagne; two sisters, Phyllis Babineaux of Scott, and Jackie Meche and her husband, Michael of Breaux Bridge; and one brother, Donald J. Girard and his wife, Grace of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Toni Champagne; her parents, Jay Girard and Gussie Himel Alleman; step-father, Avic Alleman; one sister, Nora Ann Himel; and one brother, Bobby Lee Himel. A native of Lafayette, Louisiana and resident of Broussard for most of her life, Mrs. Mouton was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her. Pallbearers will be Shawn Girard, Brian Girard, Adam Girard, Bobby Champagne, Leonard Sonnier, Shannon Meche, and Jared Meche. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clint A. Mouton, Michael Babineaux, Jr., Cristina Babineaux, Tonya Babineaux, April Babineaux, Brandi Melancon, and her godfather, Nelon Sonnier. A Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
