The Life of Devienne Rita Duhon
Funeral Services will be held at an 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, November 16, 2009 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Devienne Rita Duhon, 87, who passed away on November 13, 2009 at 9:55 pm at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Reverend Thomas Voorhies, Pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.
Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Duhon, a resident of Scott, LA, was the daughter of the late Octave Romero of Youngsville, LA and the former Eziede Gary of Youngsville, LA. Devienne was a member of St. Genevieve Church and was an avid gardener.
She is survived by two daughters, Rita Cassard and her husband Percy of Conroe, TX, and Pat Greneaux and her husband Lester of Lafayette; three sons, Donald Duhon and his wife Kyoko of Eldorado Hills, CA, James Duhon of Carencro, and Mike Duhon and his wife Joan of Scott; thirteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elphege Duhon; her parents; one daughter-in-law, Dagmar Duhon; three sisters and five brothers.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Sunday, November 15, 2009 from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Monday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm Sunday evening in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be David Duhon, Dennis Duhon, Ryan Duhon, Ty Greneaux, Nathan Greneaux, Douglas Duhon, Scott Greneaux and Kasey Gallet.
Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
