The Life of Gerard Guidry

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 2, 2006 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Catholic Church for Gerard Guidry, age 79, who passed away peacefully at 9:25 AM on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Reverend Robie Robichaux, JCL, Pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the Funeral Services. Jodi Bollich, soloist, accompanied on the organ by Deborah Duhon, will sing for the services, "Ave Maria", "Be Not Afraid", "On Eagles'' Wings" and "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman".Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Mary Anne Serio Guidry of Lafayette; two daughters, Deborah Guidry Nauck and Monique Guidry Gilomen; four grandchildren; seven sisters and six brothers.He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lucia Daigle Guidry; several brothers and sisters and a granddaughter, Jennifer Anne Nauck.A native of Crowley and a resident of Lafayette for twenty six years, Mr. Guidry was a veteran of military service, having served in the United States Army during World War II.  He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Monticello with a B.S. degree in Business Administration.Prior to Mr. Guidry''s retirement, he was self employed and owner of Acadiana Furniture Doctor. Mr. Guidry was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Community.A Rosary will be prayed Thursday at 7:30 PM in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home.The family requests that visiting hours be observed Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM until time of services.Pallbearers are Al Nauck, Jonathan Nauck, Bryan Gilomen, Micah Vidrine, Jim Cochran, Dennis Vidrine and Allen LeBlanc.  Honorary pallbearer will be Nicholas Gilomen..  Martin  & Castille Funeral Home, Inc. of Lafayette
