The Life of Jacqueline Castille

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Jacqueline "Jackie" B. Castille, 76, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Lafayette General Medical Center.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Reverend Steve LeBlanc, Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Jodi Bollich, soloist, accompanied by Kevin Martin, organist, will sing "Ave Maria", "How Great Thou Art", "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross" for the services. Survivors include her beloved husband, Dallas John Castille; eight children, Son Michael "Robbie" John Castille, his wife Lynn, Daughter Cathy Gautreaux, Daughter Debi Castille, Son Kyle James Castille, Son Scott Castille, Son Doak Castille, his wife Henrietta, Daughter Freda Landry, her husband Jeff, Daughter Mikki Meche, her husband Michael; thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister, Pearl Maciejewski, her husband Dennis; one brother, Michael W. Broussard, his wife Judy; and one sister-in-law, Mary N. Broussard.She was preceded in death by her parents, Alexandre and Mary Elena Meyers Broussard; one grandson, Chad Gautreaux; one brother, Joseph Curtis Broussard; and one nephew, Joseph C. Broussard, Jr. A lifelong resident of Lafayette, Jackie Castille, as she was most commonly known, was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed craft projects with ceramic, porcelain and wood. She made rosaries and volunteered at River Oaks Nursing Home, reciting the rosary. She loved her family and friends and will be dearly missed by them.Pallbearers will be Michael W. Broussard, Michael Castille, Scott Castille, Doak Castille, John Castille and Bryce Castille.Honorary Pallbearers will be Kyle Castille, Dallas "DJ" Landry, Jeff Landry Sr., Craig Benoit, David Dean and Donny Menard.The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's Downtown Lafayette location on Friday, April 30, 2010 from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
