The Life of Eugene Emile Larriviere

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at a 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for Eugene Emile Larriviere, 88, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Reverend Keith J. DeRouen, Rector of Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Jodi Bollich, soloist, accompanied by Tom Niel, organist, will perform for the services, "Be Not Afraid", "J'irai la voir un jour", "Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace", and "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman".Survivors include his beloved wife, Irene Comeaux Larriviere; one son, Gerald Francis Larriviere of Lafayette; one sister, Rosa Mae David of Broussard; and one brother, Wilton J. Larriviere of Lafayette.He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix Larriviere and Laura Comeaux Larriviere; three brothers, Lionel Larriviere, Raoul Larriviere and Marshall Larriviere; two sisters, Lucille Norrell and Dorothy Pittman.A Native of Youngsville, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette Mr. Larriviere was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to all who knew him. He proudly served his country in the United States Army where he served in World War II in the South Pacific Theater. He was a member of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Community. Mr. Larriviere was a member of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Knights of Columbus, and also served as an usher. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.Pallbearers will be Wilton Larriviere, Warren David, Richard Larriviere, Andre Larriviere, Allen Comeaux and Raymond Comeaux.A Rosary will be prayed, by Reverend Keith J. DeRouen, on Monday March 27, 2006 at 5:30 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Tuesday, from 9:00 AM until time of services.
