The Life of Mae Hayes

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, January 6, 2007 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mae Hayes, 79, who passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Magnolia Estates Nursing Home in Lafayette.

Interment will take place at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery in Lafayette.

Rev. Todd Menard, Pastor of Family Life will conduct the funeral services.

Mrs. Hayes, the daughter of the late Michel Walker and the former Enola Landry, was a native of New Iberia and resident of Lafayette. She was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include her four daughters, Susan Broussard and husband, Bill, Doris Sheldon, Deborah Sonnier and Donna Humphreys and husband, Michael; four sons, John Wayne Segura, Perry Segura, Bitsy Dore'' and wife, Debra and Donald Dore'' and wife Deva; nineteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Barras and Teresa Myers; two brothers, Elton Walker and Kenwood Walker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Charles Hayes and three brothers.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Magnolia Estates and Hospice of Acadiana for their compassionate care.

Visiting will be observed on Friday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm and will continue on Saturday from 8:00 am until the time of services.

A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday in the funeral home by Sts. Peter & Paul Knights of Columbus.

Pallbearers will be Michael Humphreys, Jeremy Dore'', Jonas Kracher, Barry Sheldon, William Broussard, Wayne Segura and Eugene Delcambre.
