The Life of Anita M Menard

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Anita ''Oma'' Menard, 79, who passed away Sunday, December 31, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Reverend Ted Standley, Chaplin for Lafayette General Medical Center, will conduct the funeral services.

Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park.

Mrs. Menard, a native of Sennfeld, Germany and a resident of Lafayette for 59 years, was the daughter of the late Emil Brendel and the former Katharine Panzer both of Sennfeld, Germany. She was a member of the Lafayette Women''s Bowling Association. She loved bowling and fishing. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Lawrence Menard of Lafayette; one daughter, Kathy Pourciaux and husband, Alan of Rayne; four sons, Raymond Menard and wife Diane of The Woodlands, Texas, Herbert Menard and wife, Jan of Elm Grove, LA, Paul Menard of Lafayette and Stephen Menard and wife, Judy of Duson; twelve grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Lilli Gutterman; one brother, Albert Brendel; and one nephew, Heinz Gutterman.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM and continue Thursday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

A rosary will be recited Wednesday at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Menard, Herbert Menard, Stephen Menard, Lance Menard, Christopher Menard and Alan Pourciaux. Honorary pallbearer will be Paul Menard.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Menard family.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
