The Life of Mildred D Monies

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 11:00 AM in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Mildred Daigle Monies, 92, who passed away Sunday, December 31, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

Reverend Chester Arceneaux, Pastor of Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Church will conduct the funeral services.

Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park.

Mrs. Monies, a native of Lafayette, was the daughter of the late Oscar Daigle of Lafayette and the former Eliza Landry of Broussard. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and wife. She was a lady for all seasons and was loved by all who knew her.

Survivors include one daughter, Connie Gremillion and husband, Phil of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Cynthia Sonnier of Lafayette and Catherine Moncla of Lafayette; two great grandchildren, Emma Sonnier and Millie Moncla; and one sister, Florence Boudreaux of Lafayette.

She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Martin L. Monies; and fifteen brothers and sisters.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed Tuesday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM and continue Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.

A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7:00 PM in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will include Dr. Ronald Boudreaux, Harold Schoeffler, Todd Schoeffler, Mike Moncla, Eric Sonnier, and Phil Gremillion.

Memorial contributions may be sent in the name of Mildred Monies to Christian Brothers De La Salle or Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Student Center.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Drs. Nathan Landry, James Cole, and Jeffry Chen.
