The Life of Shirley Worster Overson
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 30, 2007 at 1:00 pm in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Shirley Worster Overson, 81, who passed away Saturday, March 24, 2007. Pastor Tommy Faulk of the First Assembly of God will officiate.
Internment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park. A reception will follow.
Mrs. Overson was a native of Schriever, LA. She resided in Thibodaux, LA for 25 years and Lafayette, LA for 30 years. At the time of her death, she was a resident of the Woodlands, TX where she had resided for the past 5 years.
Mrs. Overson was the daughter of the late Thomas J. Bernard and the former Helen Orillion of Schriever, LA. She was the wife of Edward A. Worster and Wayne A. Overson.
Survivors include one daughter, Gayle W. Nathan of Charlottesville, VA; one son, Alan B. Worster and wife, Sharon Worster, of the Woodlands, TX; four grandchildren, Drew F. Barrios and wife, Dr. Kathryn Sawhill, Myles Worster, Audry Worster and Adam Worster; one great grandchild, Marlon Barrios; one brother, Sherman A. Bernard, and one sister, Willie Mae Hebert.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; one brother, Andrew J. Bernard; and six sisters, Joyce Marie Bernard, Beatrice Andras, Lucille Vinet, Isabell Talbot, Ruth Brown, and Ruby Williams.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed Friday from 10:00 am until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer''s Association, 919 No Michigan Ave., Suite 1100, Chicago, Illinois 60611-1676.
Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
