The Life of Patricia Mary Mattei

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at a 11:00 AM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Patricia (Pat) Mary Foret Mattei , 67, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at 4:10 A.M.  Burial Services will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park, 2111 W.Pinhook Rd. following the funeral services.Reverend A. Rex Broussard, Pastor of St. Basil Catholic Church in Duson, will conduct the funeral services.She is survived by her loving husband, Larry C. Mattei of Lafayette, her son Troy J. Mattei and his partner in life Timothy Miller of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and three godchildren, Katie Parks, Kristen Hernandez, and Neal Fancher; her mother, Tommie Hebert and husband Paul of Lafayette, brother, Rev. Paul Hebert and wife Judy of Dallas, Georgia, sister Melissa Hebert Parks and husband Kevin of Houston, Texas; step brother, Barry Foret of Plant City, Florida; step sisters Rochelle Foret Walker, Alice Foret Gautreaux, and Donna Foret Carreker of Houma and Darnell Foret Fazende of Baton Rouge, and various nieces and nephews. Pat was a native of Houma and a resident of Lafayette. She graduated suma cum lauda with a Bachelor''s Degree in General Studies from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette in 1994.  She delivered  the commencement address for her class.  She was named to Who''s Who in American Universities and Colleges in 1995.  Pat was an avid UL-L basketball and girls softball fan attending all home games for the last twenty years. Pat was a life active member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International. As a member of Alpha Omega Chapter, Lafayette, she served in every elected office.  She was selected as Louisiana Woman of the Year by her peers.  Pat dedicated much of her time as a member of ESA, raising funds for St. Jude''s Children''s Hospital serving as chairman of the local Lafayette  radiothon held at the  radio station KMDL.  In addition to her local volunteer work, Pat served on the boards of the Louisiana State Council and the South East Regional Council of ESA.She is a former member of the Krewe of Hycinthians Carnival Club of Houma. A Rosary will be prayed on Friday, April 6, 2007 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visitation be observed on Friday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of services.Pallbearers will be Kevin Parks, Frank Gautier, Kansas Hernandez, Neal Fancher, Randy Monson, and Donnie Norred.  Martin & Castille Funeral Home Inc, of Lafayette has been chosen to help with the arrangements. 337-234-2311
