The Life of Vincent Troy Sr.

Lafayette - A Mass of Christian Burial for Vincent Troy, Sr., 81, will be held at St. Annes Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at 10:00AM with Fr. Louis Lam Vu officiating. Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Lafayette on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 from 11:00AM until 10:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, August 2, 2006 from 8:00AM until the time of services. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Vincent a native of DeRidder and a resident of Youngsville was born November 13, 1924 and died July 31, 2006 at 9:48AM at Youngsville. He was in the Army for two years as a frontline medic during WWII, in which he was awarded the Purple Heart, and the Bronze Star. After his honorable discharge, he was a truck driver, and then a master mechanic before retiring from Operating Engineers. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed going to CB breaks (where he was known as “Knuckle Buster”), and operated his own ceramic business. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rita Girard Troy of Youngsville; four sons, Vincent Troy, Jr. and his wife Claire of Kenner, Clarence Troy and his wife Billie of Harker Heights, TX, Russell J. Troy and his wife Norma of Youngsville, and James J. Troy and his wife Audrey of Youngsville; two brothers, Martin Troy of Lake Charles, and Ben L. Troy of Lafayette; one sister, Lucille Broussard of Youngsville; four grandchildren, Tammy Troy Bertrand and her husband Conrad of Scott, Michelle Troy Wesolowski and her husband Mark Wesolowski of Liberty Hill, TX, Tina Stoeser and Samantha Troy both Harker Height, TX; and four great-grandchildren. He is Preceded in death by his father the late Tony Troy of Genoa, Italy; his mother the late Josephine Tartorice Troy of New Iberia; a brother, Salvador Troy; and two sisters, Angie Troy Blanchard, and Jane Troy Roberts. Pallbearers will be Russell J. Troy, James J. Troy, Conrad Bertrand, Jeremy Troy, Mark Wesolowski, and Robert Romero. Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Cardiel, Jr., Ben Troy, Jr., Ben L. Troy, and Martin Troy. David Funeral Home of Lafayette is in charge of arrangments.
