The Life of Joseph Maxie Hebert

Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 7, 2006 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott for Mr. Joseph Maxie Hebert, age 70, who passed away at 10:15 PM, Tuesday, July 4, 2006 in Lafayette General Medical Center.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Reverend Glenn Meaux, in residence at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the Funeral Services.Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Ann Albarado Hebert of Scott; one daughter, Brenda Roger and her husband, John of Scott; one son, Charles Maxie Hebert, Sr. and his wife, Pam of Cecilia; nine grandchildren, John A. Roger, Jr., Joseph Glen Roger, Wilerd A. Roger, Jacob Roger, James Roger, Charles M. Hebert, Jr., Desiree and Dawn Hebert and Donnafa Romero; twelve great grandchildren; two step grandchildren, Amie J. Thrasher and Kristopher Johannes and three step great grandchildren; three sisters, Doris Hebert and her husband, Alauthas, Mildred Schexnayder, Annie Lois Richard and her husband, Roger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theard and Zelda Duhon Hebert; one daughter, Debra Prejean and one brother, Norman Hebert.A native of Lafayette Parish and a resident of Scott for fifty three years, Mr. Hebert was a veteran of military service, having served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Community.Prior to his retirement, Mr. Hebert was employed with the Lafayette Parish School Board as Head Custodian of Leo Judice Elementary School in Scott. He previously worked twenty seven years at Sunbeam Bakery as a foreman. Mr. Hebert''s favorite hobbies were fishing and hunting and he also loved cooking for his family.The family would like to thank Dr. Leleux and Dr. Menard of Scott, Dr. Gupta and all the family and friends for the kind support they offered to Maxie during his time of need.A Rosary will be prayed Thursday at 7:00 PM in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visiting hours be observed Thursday from 11:30 AM, with an all night visitation until time of service.Pallbearers will be John A. Roger, Jr., Wilerd Roger, Joseph Glen Roger, Jacob Roger, James Roger and Charles M. Hebert, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Roger Richard, Paul Schexnayder, Avery Thomas, Kory Womack, Jason Chastant and Michael Hebert.
