The Life of Thomas Conrad Chandler

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Thomas Conrad Chandler, 77, who passed away on December 19, 2009 at 6:40PM at Lafayette General Medical Center. Reverend Duane Petersen, Pastor of Episcopal Church of the Ascension , will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Chandler, a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, was the son of the late Oscar Chandler of Winnfield, Louisiana and the former Edith Jacoby of Little Rock, Arkansas. Tom retired from the U. S. Air Force after 25 years of service. He was a member of Hope Masonic Lodge for 50 years. Tom received his Bachelor’s degree in Geology from Southwestern Louisiana Institute and a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He received a Master’s degree in Geology from the University of Southwestern Louisiana. Tom was a proud father and grandfather and enjoyed being his daughter’s biggest fan. He is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Dolan Chandler; four loving daughters, Kathryn Chandler Pumford and husband Michael, Suzanne Edith Chandler and close friend, Shelly Jones, Elaine Chandler Ingersoll and husband Derek and Leah Chandler; three grandsons, Thelen and Chandler Pumford, Tanner Jones; one grand-daughter, Sarah Ingersoll; one brother, Steve Chandler . He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Ann Chandler Rapp. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 from 1:00 pm until time of service at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand DriveLafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
