The Life of Milton John Broussard

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 15, 2008, at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Milton John Broussard, 85, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. Reverend Timothy Richard, Pastor of St. Edmond Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Christan Broussard and Danielle Broussard. Lectors will be Andrea Broussard and Marica Broussard. Valerie Andrus, organist and soloist, will sing “Amazing Grace”, “On Eagles’ Wings”, “Be Not Afraid” and “Ave Maria” for the services. Survivors include his loving wife, Goldie Romero Broussard; two sons, Mark W. Broussard and his wife Charlotte and Barry J. Broussard, Sr.; grandchildren, Beau Broussard and his wife Dani and their daughter Emily, Andrea Broussard and her son Noah Gray, Barry J. Broussard, Jr., Marica Broussard, Andre’ Broussard and Christan Broussard; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Oren Broussard; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elvige Broussard; and nine siblings.A lifelong resident of Lafayette, Milton Broussard, known to many as “Mim” proudly served our country in the United States Army in the 250th Field Artillery Battalion in the European Theater in World War II and supported the French General LeClair’s Troops. The Battalion formed a reunion group in 1964 and continues to meet to this day.He had a great passion for his French heritage, studying his family’s genealogy and always having a great story to tell. “Mim” was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to all. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.Pallbearers will be Mark Broussard, Barry Broussard Sr., Barry Broussard Jr., Beau Broussard, Andre’ Broussard and Keith Patin.Honorary Pallbearers will be Ross Goudeau, Frank Culotta and Sam Anderson.A Rosary will be prayed by St. Edmond’s Knights of Columbus Council on Sunday, September 14, 2008 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. The family requests that visitation be observed on Sunday from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service.  Martin & Castille-Lafayette, 234-2311
