The Life of Norbert A Krieg Sr.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville for Norbert A. "Scrub" Krieg, age 77, who's strong will peacefully entered eternal rest at 7:35 PM, Saturday, July 8, 2006 at his residence in Youngsville.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the VFW members.Reverend Louis Lam Vu, Pastor of St. Anne Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the Funeral Services. Arielle Boutin, soloist, will sing for the services.Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Fern Delahoussaye Krieg of Youngsville; five sons, Stephen Krieg and his wife, Renee, Norbert Tony Krieg II and his wife, Brenda, Ray Krieg and his wife, Lisa, Carl Krieg and his wife, Paula and George Krieg and his companion, Susan, all of Youngsville and one daughter, Josephine "Josie" Cleneay and her husband, Allen of Lafayette; his grandchildren, Rachelle Falcon, Ronnie Krieg, Rhaelyn Krieg , Josh Krieg, Rebecca Krieg, Angelle Cleneay and Nicholas Cleneay; step grandchildren, Blake Domingue, Alexandria Domingue, James Broussard, Nicholas Broussard and Bryant Tabb; his great grandchildren, Raini Falcon and Briston Falcon; one sister, Esther Weiss of Mosinee, Wisconsin; three brothers, Jerome Krieg and Lee Krieg, both of Mosinee, Wisconsin and Francis "Shorty" Krieg of Youngsville. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Eileen "Sissy" Krieg; his parents, William and Mamie Dieler Krieg; three brothers, Maurice Krieg, Bob Krieg and Gordon Krieg; three sisters, Mary Shear, Doris Krieg and Grace Fitzgerald.A native of Emmet, Wisconsin and a resident of Youngsville, Louisiana for forty years, Mr. Krieg was a veteran of military service, having served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He moved to Youngsville in 1954 to work as co-owner of the Krieg Brothers Terrazzo Company with his brothers. Mr. Krieg was a member of the St. Anne Catholic Community, where he served as an usher. He was also a member of the Youngsville VFW Post 9210, a past Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus 6057. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Krieg was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He was known as "Pop Krieg" and his favorite memorable times were spent with his grandchildren.A Rosary will be prayed Monday at 7:00 PM in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visiting hours be observed Monday from 10:00 AM until 10:00 PM and Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of service.Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Krieg's name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, Louisiana 70503. Pallbearers will be Tony Krieg, Ray Krieg, Carl Krieg, George Krieg, Ronnie Krieg and Lawrence Delahoussaye.Martin & Castille Funeral Home, Inc. of Lafayette has been chosen to help with the arrangements. 337-234-2311.
