The Life of Paul U. Gary

Funeral services will be held in the Delhomme Funeral Home in Maurice at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 9, 2009 for Paul U. Gary, 82, who died peacefully at home on Friday, November 6, 2009. Chaplain Paul Broussard will conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Gary was a proud U. S. Navy Veteran, having served in World War II South Pacific of Operations. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Daisy Trahan Gary and two sons, Paul Keith and is wife, Kathy and Robert W. and his wife Phyllis; four grandchildren, Mason Paul and his wife Kristal, Giles Keith, Amanda Louise and Nikki Renee Gary; two sisters, Anne Lemaire of Abbeville and Jean Loigon of New Iberia and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father Eloi Gary and his mother Aurore Trahan Gary. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Sunday from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm and continue Monday from 9:00 am to time of services. A rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 7:00 pm in the funeral home Pallbearers will include Mason, Amanda, Giles and Nikki Gary, his grandchildren and two Godchildren, Jonathan Beaugh and Mike O'Connor, and his nephews, Tony Morvant and Albert Trahan. The family would like to thank Dr. Kemp Coreil, the 3rd floor staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, and Heart of Hospice especially Stephanie, Terri, Mandy and Mary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in the name of Paul U. Gary can be made to Heart of Hospice, 201 West Vermillion Street, Lafayette, LA 70501 Delhomme Funeral Home, 200 Chief H Fred Avenue, Maurice, Louisiana, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
