The Life of Leonce Paul Connolly

Funeral services will be held at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, April 1, 2008 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Leonce Paul Connolly, 94, who passed away Thursday, March 27, 2008 at Camelot of Broussard. Reverend Louis J. Richard, Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard, will be Celebrant of the Mass and conduct the funeral services. Interment will take place at Lafayette Memorial Park. Leonce, the son of the late Louis Edgar Connolly, Sr. of New Orleans and the former Electa Kilchrist Connolly of Carencro, was a native of Carencro and a resident of Broussard. He was a veteran of the military have served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Connolly Guidry and husband, Paul of Broussard; three sons, Michael Lynn Connolly and wife, Patricia of Pablo, CO, Paul Connolly and wife, Mavis of Lafayette, and Bryan Connolly and wife, Charlene of Lafayette; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Della Connolly; one sister, Lena Chiasson; and seven brothers, Edgar Connolly, Jr., Edward Connolly, John Connolly, David Connolly, Charles Connolly, George Connolly, and Rene Connolly. The family requests visiting hours be observed on Monday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm and continue on Tuesday from 8:00 am until the time of service. A rosary will be recited Monday at 6:30 pm by Sister Laura Melancon in the funeral home. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette is in charge of funeral arrangements
