The Life of Randy Floyd Thomas

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, March 22, 2008 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Randy Floyd Thomas, 55, who passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at Southwest Medical Center. Deacon Michael Clark of Holy Cross Catholic Church, will conduct the services. Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park. Randy, the son of the late John Thomas, II and the former Luby Little was a native of Lake Charles and a resident of Lafayette. He was a member and the cook for San Patricio Bayou Hunting Club. He loved his family, gatherings, and especially playing with his granddaughter, Madison. Randy loved letting Madison ride with him on his scooter around the neighborhood and to the park. He loved cooking, always trying new recipes. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth “Beth” Oge Thomas of Lafayette; mother, Luby L. Thomas of Lafayette; one daughter, Melanie Thomas Hearen and husband Shaun of Lafayette; four sons, David John Thomas and wife, Robin of Duson, Stephen Paul Thomas of Lafayette, Ryan “Bam” Joseph Thomas of Lafayette, and Jeffrey James Thomas of Lafayette; grandchildren, Madison Cherie Thomas, Chloe Renee Baudoin, and his unborn grandson; one sister, Luby Thomas Bendily and husband, Jim of Carencro; and two brothers, John “Buddy” Thomas and Michael Thomas, both of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his father; and one daughter, Cherie Elizabeth Thomas. The family requests visiting hours be observed on Friday from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm and on Saturday from 8:00 until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Ward Oge, Charles Oge, Robert Oge, Mark Oge, Shaun Hearen, and Jim Bendily. Honorary pallbearers will be Wilson Boudreaux, Ramon Ladner, Gerald “Jerry” Mandella and the members of the San Patricio Bayou Hunting club. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
