The Life of Mae B. Lognion Hardy

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 22, 2005 at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Mae B. Lognion Hardy, age 88, the former Mae Babineaux, who died Monday, September 19, 2005 at 8:45 AM at her Lafayette residence. Interment will be in Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery. The Reverend Floyd Calais will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the Funeral Services. Jodi Bollich, organist, will sing for the services, "On Eagles'' Wings", "Be Not Afraid", "Ave Maria" and "Here I Am, Lord". Survivors include her husband of seventeen years, Earl J. Hardy; one daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Bruz Mixon of New Iberia; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard J. and Linda Lognion of Lake Tahoe, Nevada; six grandchildren, Art and Pam Mixon, Tynes and Michelle Mixon, all of New Iberia, Jason and Patricia Mixon Roberts of Sausalito, California; Christina Mixon of New Iberia, Aaron and Paige Lognion Hungerford, Sam and Stacy Lognion Chambliss of Diamond Bar, California; thirteen great grandchildren, Jonathan, Katherine, Phillip, Monica, Heather, Madeline and Lauren Mixon, Eden and Jesse Roberts, Brenna Lognion, Cody and Bryce Wunder and Kailyn Hungerford; step children and their families, Debra & Wayne Bonin, of Lafayette and John and Toni Hardy of New Iberia; three step grandchildren, Ellen Bayless, David Bodin and Patrick Hardy; four step great grandchildren, Ben and Emily Bayless, Courtney Bodin and Laura Hardy and one brother, Lloyd Babineaux. Sr. of Lafayette. She was preceded in death by her parents, Adonis Pierre and Nathalie Romero Babineaux; her first husband of thirty years, John W. Lognion; three brothers, Wilfred Babineaux, Simonette Babineaux and A. D. Babineaux and four sisters, Nydia LeBlanc, Lelia Theriot, Cecile Delcambre and Alice Reaux. Mrs. Hardy was born on February 6, 1917 in Coteau and was a resident of Lafayette since 1945. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who was very dedicated to her family. Mrs. Hardy enjoyed working in her yard. A Rosary will be prayed Wednesday at 6:30 PM in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed Wednesday from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Thursday from 8:00 AM until service time. Pallbearers are her grandchildren, Art Mixon, Tynes Mixon, Patricia Mixon Roberts, Christina Mixon, Paige Lognion Hungerford and Stacy Lognion Chambliss.
