The Life of Robert John Linscomb

Robert J. "Bob" Linscomb was called home to his loving Lord on February 14, 2011. Bob was born February 2, 1928 in New Iberia, Louisiana to John Oren and Laura Linscomb. He was a graduate of Lafayette High School and attended USL. He served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Ingraham in World War II. He fell in love and married his sweetheart, Beverly Boulanger, in 1948. He spent his life in the oilfield industry working for Camco and Axelson. He retired in 1991 from Axelson. He loved to travel, fish, camp and spending time with his friends and family. He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly; son, Michael and his wife Roxanne of Dallas, TX; daughter, Kim Linscomb Taylor and husband John of White Oak, TX; grandsons, Nick Linscomb and wife Nicole and Christopher Linscomb; granddaughters, Laurie Linscomb and her boyfriend Paul Spurgin and long time friends, Bill Brabbits and Jim Bill McMichael. A rosary will be recited at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 1:30 PM on Thursday, Feb. 17 and a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2 PM with Father Gavin Vaverek officiating. Burial will be in Lafayette, Louisiana on Saturday. Pall bearers will be Jim Bill McMichael, Bill Brabbits, John Taylor, Nicholas Linscomb, Christopher Linscomb and Paul Spurgin. Special thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Good Shepherd Medical Center for the many years of care. The family request in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America, American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
