The Life of Nada Susannah Breaux

Funeral services will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension on Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at a 10:00 AM Service of Holy Eucharist and Burial for Mrs. Roy C. Breaux, the former Nada Susannah Willford, age 87, who died peacefully at her residence on Sunday, September 30, 2007. Interment will be in the Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.The Reverend Duane E. Petersen, Interim Rector of Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Lafayette will conduct the services. Survivors include four daughters, Susannah Breaux West and her husband Chris West of Cary, NC, Andree Breaux Greenberg and her husband Mark Greenberg of Oakland, CA, Nicole Breaux Perea and her husband Luis Perea of Lafayette, and Michelle Breaux Munsell and her husband John Munsell of Lafayette; two sons, Roy Raoul Breaux and Neville Willford Breaux, both of Lafayette; and 13 grandchildren: Alessandra Pelliccia, Philip West, Caedmon Pelliccia, Natalia Perea, Stuart Breaux, Andre Breaux, Brittany West, Elsie Pelliccia, Alejandro Perea, Faith Munsell, Caroline Munsell, Jack Munsell and Linden Munsell. Mrs. Breaux was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 45 years, Roy Charles Breaux, in 1991; and by her parents; and one brother, Peter Vaughan Willford.A native of Sussex, England and a resident of Lafayette since 1955, Mrs. Breaux was the daughter of the late Neville Willford and the former Susannah Cadman, both natives of England. She served in the British Red Cross as an ambulance driver from 1941 to 1945.Mrs. Breaux was the first woman to be licensed as a stockbroker in the state of Louisiana. In 1971, she founded the retail business Pieces of Eight of Lafayette, Inc. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension where she was a lay reader, a member of the Vestry, the Altar Guild, the Olive Branch and a RAIN team. The Family requests that visiting hours be observed on Tuesday, October 2, 2007 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of service at Martin & Castille Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Breaux''s name may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, Faith House, The Well or St. Jude''s Children''s Hospital. Pallbearers are Kenneth Breaux, Luis Perea, John Munsell, Mark Greenberg, Stuart Breaux, Andre Breaux and Alejo Perea.The family of Mrs. Breaux would like to extend very special thanks to their family friend of many years, Carol Arceneaux; to Mrs. Breaux?s friend and caregiver, Shirley Summers; and to her friend and physician, Dr. Kenneth McCarron.
