The Life of Paula Elodie Prejean
A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2005 at 5:30 PM at St. Jules Catholic Church for Boots Prejean who died Monday, May 30, 2005 at her Lafayette residence, ?The County". It was Mrs. Prejean''s wishes that her remains be donated to LSU Anatomical Services. The Very Rev. Msgr. Richard Greene, Pastor, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson and St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Morgan City, will be the Celebrant of the Mass. Born August 30, 1917, Boots was a native and lifelong resident of Lafayette. She attended Mt. Carmel Catholic School and graduate from Lafayette High School and S.L.I. (now ULL) where she earned a degree in education. Boots taught public school for 13 years in Lafayette, Judice, Golden Meadow and in the Atchafalaya Basin before marrying J. Clyde Prejean to became a homemaker. She loved to play bridge and was faithful to her weekly bridge games for over 40 years. Boots is survived by her husband of 54 years, J. Clyde Prejean and her four children, Rene'', Celeste, Gordon and David and their spouses, Mrs. Rene? "Nancy" Prejean, Mrs. Gordon "Jane" Prejean, Mrs. David "Ann" Prejean and Gary Thorson; her grandchildren, Jillian, Alex, Charlotte, Brian and Joseph Prejean; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their children. She was preceded in death by her parents, L. Sidney Comeaux, of Lafayette, and Paula Landry Comeaux, of Acadia Parish; her brothers, Gordon Comeaux, Alba "Blanco" Comeaux, Alexander "Pete" Comeaux, Wilbur "Brother" Comeaux, James "Jimmy" Comeaux; and her sisters, Edna Mae St. Julien, Oni Lou Francez and Pauline Randolph. The family would like to thank her caregiver, Marion Bernard, who has been there for her and the family for many years. Also thanks this past year to her home nurse, Ginette Pommier, her caregivers, Esther Broussard and Bernie Grilley and Dr. Maurice Sullivan and his nurse, Becky. Visitation will be held at Martin & Castille Funeral Home on Wednesday from noon until 4:30 PM. Following the visitation a mass will be held at 5:30 PM at St. Jules Catholic Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Martin & Castille Funeral Home, Inc. of Lafayette, 234-2311.
