The Life of Barbara C Menard
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 27, 2007 at a 3:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Barbara Martin Menard, 54, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 25, 2007.Reverend Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Ernest Bijeaux, vocalist, accompanied by Joni Hamilton, organist, will sing for the services, "Be Not Afraid", "Amazing Grace", "As The Deer Longs", and "On Eagles'' Wings".Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Survivors include her beloved husband, Jimmy L. Menard of Lafayette; one daughter, Shannon Tew and her husband, Jay of Baton Rouge; one son, Travis Menard and his wife, Stephanie of Broussard; five grandchildren, Jordan Tew, Cameron Tew, Taylor Tew, Kelsi Gaspard, and Tallon Menard; her mother, Russie Duhon of Lafayette; five sisters, Billie Guidry and her husband, Darrell of Lafayette, Connie Quartana and her husband, Phil of Breaux Bridge, Cheryl Moore and her husband, Charles of Scott, Dana Johnson and her husband, James of Corpus Christi, TX., and Janice Martin of Lafayette; and one brother, Troy Martin of Lafayette.She was preceded in death by her son Rowdy J. Menard; one infant son; and her father, Percy Martin.A native of Crowley and lifelong resident of Lafayette, Louisiana, Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend to all who knew her. She was co-owner, with her husband, Jimmy, of HMS Supply & Rentals, Inc. Barbara was an avid bowler, and was named as an officer with the Lafayette Women''s Bowling Association, and also served as President of the "Funtime League". She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.Pallbearers will be Patrick Menard, Jay Tew, Troy Martin, Andy Sloveck, Mitch Mequet, and Chane Menard.A Rosary will be prayed on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of services
