The Life of Tullie Ferney
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 1PM. Service at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery, for Tullie M Ferney, 89, Who passed away peacefully on Monday May 17 2010, at Lafayette Care Center. Services by Deacon Timothy Maragos of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
She is survived by two children. Daughter Kimmey H Giffin and her husband Gene of Cheyenne Wy. Her grandchildren Jeremy Guidry of Denver Co. and Kimmey Leblanc of Leugue City, TX along with great grandchildren Skylar and Mackenzie Leblanc. Son Wayne M Ferney and his wife Alicia of Broussard La. Her grandchildren Michael R Ferney and his wife Elizebeth along with great granddaughter Kyra Ferney. Gradaughter Andrea M Burlingame of Portland Or. with great grandchildren John Raines of Fairbanks Alaska and Stella , Annie and Evan Burlingame of Portland Or. Her only living sibling, Van Mestayer and his wife Barbara. Also her bothers Gaston''s wife Joanne along with many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in her death by her husband Richard K Ferney (died Nov 1994). Her parents Gaston and Helen DeBlanc Mestayer. Her brothers Daniel, Gaston, George, Francis. Her sisters Helen, Rita, Myralouise.
Tullie was born on 06/16/1920 in New Iberia, Louisiana. She and her husband (Richard K Ferney) had a wonderful marriage of 52 years. He retired from the military in 1959. Thus they did many years of traveling to all parts of the world. She was a great homemaker and all that knew Tullie were treated very well whenever in her home. You might say: come for a day, a week, or even a month and always feel well taken care of by her giving and courteous ways.
My wife Alicia and I would like to thank the entire staff and residence of Lafayette Care Center for their wonderful care and concern shown for Tullie in her final days. You do make a difference.
