The Life of Travis Domingue
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Travis ''Doux'' Domingue, 89, who passed away Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Reverend Robie Robichaux JCL, Pastor of St. Mary''s Catholic Church, will conduct the funeral services.
Interment will take place in Holy Mary, Mother of God Cemetery.
Mr. Domingue, a native and resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Elias Domingue and the former Georgiana Broussard both of Lafayette Parish. He was a member of the Louisiana National Guard. Travis was employed by Montgomery Wards from 1957 until 1980. He loved gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, brother, son, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was a generous and caring person who will be dearly missed by friends and family.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Paul Domingue and wife, Jackie of Lafayette and James Domingue and wife, Sandy; six grandchildren, Jodie Cobb and husband, James, Randy Domingue and wife, Michelle, Kelly Domingue and wife, Buffy, Chad Domingue and wife, Amie, Travis J. Domingue and wife, Amanda and Wendi Ritz and husband, Travis; twelve great grandchildren; and one brother, P.T. ''Tommy'' Domingue.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernice Hernandez Domingue; one sister, Mrs. Wilmont ''Verna'' Boudreaux; and one brother, Forest Domingue.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed Tuesday from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and continue Wednesday from 8:00 am until time of service.
A rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Randy Domingue, Kelly Domingue, Travis Domingue, Chad Domingue, Travis Ritz, and Jamie Cobb. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Domingue and Greg Boudreaux.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to Dr. Kenneth Champagne and Dr. Karen Roden, and all the nursing staff at Lafayette General Medical Center who gave their considerate time and gentle support through his illness.
