The Life of Jodie Ernest Crouch Sr.

Funeral services for Jodie Ernest Crouch, Sr., 78, will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at 11:00 am in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers. Rev. Tom Lambert, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Milton, will officiate at the funeral services. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery on Pinhook Road, Lafayette, LA. Mr. Crouch was a native of Bronson, TX, and an early pioneer of the Lafayette Oil Industry as founder and owner of Southern Wireline Services at Youngsville. He was a former Mason Shriner and supporter of the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Crouch was also a long time member of the Lafayette Petroleum Club. In his retirement years he lived each day with his wife in appreciation for his beautiful grandchildren and wonderful great-grandchildren. Jodie Crouch was a good man who left his family a legacy of love and commitment. He was an example of integrity and hard work and discipline. He never bought anyone’s respect, yet had the respect of all who knew him. He provided for and protected his home, honored his wife and valued his children. He was wise and made good decisions, an example of true manhood, discretion and prudence, the value of family, the value and stewardship of things entrusted. However, he also cared for all around him and they felt his strength as he took care of them. He is survived by his loving wife, Bennie Mae Brown (Dendy); sons, Dennis L. Crouch and wife, Beatriz, Jodie E. Crouch, Jr. and wife, Janet, Kenneth W. Crouch and wife, Michelle, David M. Crouch and wife, Loretta, Larry G. Crouch, all of Lafayette, LA and Billy R. Crouch and wife, Kay of Lawrenceville, GA; daughter, Jo Ann McLemore and husband, Bobby of Lafayette, LA; stepsons, Richard M. Gilcrease and wife, Sonya of Bunkie, LA, Jack Dendy and stepdaughter, Mollie Dendy; sisters, Joy Helms and Lela Kelsey; grandchildren, Amanda Crouch, Jodie E. Crouch, III, Jesse Crouch, Bobbie Jo Boudreaux, Kevin McLemore, Kenneth Crouch, II, Casey Crouch, Jessica Crouch, Troy Crouch, Jason Broussard, Rory Shows, Beau Crouch, Chad Crouch, Jim Dixon and Eva Kent, Kellie Crouch, Brady Crouch, Matthew Crouch, Anndrea Crouch, Caleb Gilcrease, and eleven great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank his loving wife, Bennie for the excellent care she took of their father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anniece Hayes Crouch; his second wife, Colleen Magee Crouch; grandson, Jacob Crouch and his parents and one sister, Yvonne O’Quin. Visitation will be at Delhomme Funeral Home, Bertrand Drive, Lafayette from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday and resume Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service. Pallbearers will be Casey Crouch, Jodie Crouch, III, Jesse Crouch, Kevin McLemore, Chad Crouch, Brady Crouch, Mathew Crouch and Troy Crouch. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Broussard, Rory Shows, Beau Crouch, Kellie Crouch, Andrea Crouch, Caleb Gilcrease, Jim Dixon, Eva Kent, Amanda Crouch Bobbie Jo Boudreaux, Jessica Crouch and Kenneth Crouch, II .
