The Life of Lester James Bergeron

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 27, 2008, at 3:00 PM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette for Lester James Bergeron, 60, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. Pastor Jeff Ables and Pastor David Baudoin, both of Crossroads Church in Lafayette will conduct the funeral service.Survivors include his beloved wife, Victoria Boudreaux Bergeron; two daughters, Amanda Kathryn Bergeron and Lesley Suzanne Bergeron; mother, Evelyn Fruge Hayes; step father, Wilven Hayes; siblings from the Hayes family, Debra, Christy, Alice, Wallace and Donald; step mother, Mina D. Bergeron; siblings from the Bergeron family, Linda, Sandy, Donna, Shelia, Carl, Tammy and Mark; father-in-law, Murray Boudreaux; mother-in-law, Sophie H. Boudreaux; and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his father, J. Roy Bergeron and one sister, Peggy Lee.A lifelong resident of Lafayette, Lester James Bergeron graduated from Northside High School in 1966 and was a member of Crossroads Church in Lafayette. He was an avid LSU and Saints fan and loved spending time with his family. He was known for telling jokes and playing jokes on friends and family. Lester Bergeron was a loving husband, father, son, brother and friend to all and will be greatly missed by family and friends.Pallbearers will be Wallace Hayes, Donald Hayes, Carl Bergeron, John Blanchard, Miles Peterson II and Murray Peterson.Honorary Pallbearers will be Noah “Butch” Moore, Barry Johnson, Jay Fogal and Karl Oswald. A Rosary will be prayed on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 7:00 PM at Martin & Castille Funeral Home.The family requests that visitation be observed on Sunday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Monday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
