The Life of Wilson Domingue

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at a 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Wilson Domingue, 79, who passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at his residence in Lafayette.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Reverend Curtis Mallet, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Raymond Domingue and Ronald Domingue, Jr. Giftbearers will be Ronald Domingue and Jessica Conrad.Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Theresa Lantier Domingue of Lafayette; two daughters, Brenda Domingue and Melissa D. Martinez and her husband Richard; two sons, Ronald Domingue, Sr. and his wife Kathy and Kenneth Domingue and his wife Paula; five grandchildren, Ronald Domingue, Jr., Jessica Martinez Conrad, Nicole Holly, Bradley Morris and Phillip Lewis; one sister, Mary Joyce Broussard and her husband Gerald; and one brother, Raymond D. Domingue and his wife Genita.He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Domingue; four brothers, Dennis Domingue, Russell Domingue, Oran Domingue and Joseph Clayton Domingue; his grandparents, Zoe and Maurice Domingue and Clemence and Pierre Domingue; and two nieces, Priscilla Domingue and Charlotte Domingue Cooper.A native of Scott, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for most of his life, Mr. Domingue was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He was a member of the United States Air Force and proudly served his country during the Korean War. Mr. Domingue was a member of the St. Genevieve Catholic Church Community. He participated in the Senior Olympic Games and enjoyed many sports including badminton, pickle ball, miniature golf, basketball and boxing for which he really loved and had many trophies. Mr. Domingue enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.Pallbearers will be Phillip Lewis, Jeremiah Lewis, Corey Conrad, Kenneth Domingue, Ronald Domingue, Jr. and Richard Martinez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronald Domingue, Sr., Josh Lewis and Richard David. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille''s Downtown Lafayette location on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of service. A Rosary will be prayed on Tuesday 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home
