The Life of Margaret Jane Everett

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, May 14, 2007 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Margaret Jane Everett, 75, who passed away May 9, 2007 at Lafayette Extended Care. Rev. Robert Richardson, Pastor of Northside Baptist Church, will officiate at the funeral services. Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery in Lafayette. Ms. Everett, the daughter of the late Alva Houston Thomas and the former May Elizabeth Stigall, both of Todd County, KY, was a native of Elkton, KY and a resident of Lafayette. She was a Pioneer for women''s rights. She was a Nurse Anesthetist and also a Nursing Instructor. Ms. Everett retired from the State of La Charity System and a New Orleans private hospital. She enjoyed traveling throughout the world. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Michael K. Everett of Lafayette; one grandchild, Christopher T. Everett; one great-grandchild, Alyssa Everett and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and three brothers. Visiting hours will be observed on Sunday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm and will continue on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of service. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette is in charge of funeral arrangements.
