The Life of Florence Lucille Ware

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at a 10:00 AM Service in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Florence L. Ware, 84, who passed away peacefully on Friday, August 21, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Reverend Kenneth Burke, Pastor of First Lutheran Church in Lafayette, will officiate the funeral services. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "How Great Thou Art", "Amazing Grace", "The Lord's Prayer" and "Just A Closer Walk With Thee".Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Ware Collins and Carolyn Ruth Ware Hebert; eight grandchildren, Jason M. Collins and his wife, Ginger, Clay A. Collins and his wife, Marie, Bowen K. Collins, Kathryn Ruth Collins, Leslie C. Hebert, Michael J. Hebert, James K. Hebert and Brian J. Hebert; three great grandchildren, Gretchen Ruth Collins, Michael G. Collins and Allen E. Collins; and three sisters, Alice Goeringer, Ruth Sanders and Thelma White.She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Catherine Baumgart; Holmes Kendall Ware; one son, John Kendall Ware; and one brother, Walter Baumgart.A native of Bessie, Oklahoma and resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for over 40 years, Mrs. Ware was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was a volunteer and Member of the "Pink Ladies' Auxiliary at Lafayette General Medical Center, and was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church in Lafayette. Mrs. Ware enjoyed gardening and cooking, but her passion in life was spending time with her friends and family, whom she adored. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jason M. Collins, Clay A. Collins, Bowen K. Collins, Michael J. Hebert, James K. Hebert and Brian J. Hebert.The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff of Amelia Manor and Kingsley Place and to Dr. Angela Snow, Dr. Shankaraiah Kothapalli and Dr. John Mickey for their kindness, compassion and gentle care given to Mrs. Florence during her time of need.The family requests that visitation be observed on Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until time of services.Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Ware's name to the American Heart Association, 312 Guilbeau Road, Suite 6C, Lafayette, Louisiana 70506-6954.
