The Life of Mary Ann Doucet
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 15, 2007, at a 1:30 PM Mass of Christian Burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Mary Ann Broussard Doucet, 75, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at her residence in Lafayette.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend William Gearheard, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milton, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Giftbearers will be Brennan Doucet and Emily Doucet. Lector will be Megan Doucet. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing "Amazing Grace", "Be Not Afraid", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", "Isaiah 49" and "J''irai la voir Un Jour" for the services. Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Jenkins and her husband Byron of Milton; two sons, Charlie Doucet and his wife Christine of Lafayette and Mike Doucet and his wife Kim of Duson; eight grandchildren, Kristine, Mike II, Melanie, Laynee, Sean, Megan, Emily and Brennan Doucet; and ten great grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Zane, Justin, Skylar, Ty, Tony, Cheyenne, Alana and Aiden.She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Doucet; one son, Daniel Doucet and her parents, Emick and Edmonia Breaux Broussard. A native and resident of Lafayette for all of her life, Mary Ann Doucet was a long time member of a private rosary group. She was very devout to her faith and was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Mary Ann had a great love for flowers and enjoyed baking for family and friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her and will be dearly missed.Pallbearers will be Byron Jenkins, Mike Doucet, II, Sean Doucet, Brennan Doucet, Donnie Boutin and Ronnie Boutin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brent Porrier and Bobby Olsen.A Rosary will be prayed Sunday, October 14, 2007 at 6:00 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. The family requests that visitation be observed on Sunday from 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM and on Monday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
