The Life of Martha S Bertrand

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at a 12:00 PM Mass of Christian burial in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Martha Seaux Bertrand, 67, who passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at her residence in Lafayette. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Reverend Louis Allen Breaux, Associate Pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Tammy Bertrand and Virginia Halbman. Giftbearers will be April McBride, Cody LeBlanc and Paige Bertrand. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art", "On Eagles' Wings" and "Surely the Presence of the Lord is in this Place". Survivors include her three loving children, one daughter, Linda LeBlanc and her husband, Tim LeBlanc; two sons, Randall Bertrand and his fiancée', Virginia Halbman and Conrad Bertrand and his wife, Tammy Bertrand; seven grandchildren, April McBride and her husband, David McBride, Cody LeBlanc and his wife, Amber LeBlanc, Paige Bertrand, Payton Bertrand, Sandy Bertrand, Mindy Bertrand and Chance Bertrand; two great grandchildren, Gaven McBride and Hayden LeBlanc; three sisters, Marget Dew, Shirley Rowland and Matilda Fisher; four brothers, George Seaux, John Seaux, Billy Seaux and Joseph Seaux, Jr.She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Huey P. Bertrand; her parents, Wilbert Seaux, Sr. and Lilly Seaux; one son-in-law, Russell James Guidry; four brothers, Lionel Seaux, Norris Seaux, Michael Seaux and James Seaux; and two sisters, Nessie Seaux and Frieda Seaux. A native of Mire, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for most of her life, Mrs. Bertrand was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.Pallbearers will be George Seaux, Shane Seaux, Cody LeBlanc, Dean Fincher, Vernon Fisher and LC Bertrand.
