The Life of Charles Edward Thompson II

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010, at an 11:00 AM Service in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Charles "Chuck" Edward Thompson II, age 56, who passed away from a sudden illness on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Weldon Moak, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Broussard will conduct the funeral services, assisted by Reverend Wallace Millsaps, Pastor of First Baptist Church in Jeanerette and Reverend Louis Richard, Pastor of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Broussard. Karen Broussard, organist, will sing for the service, "On Eagles' Wings", "Be Not Afraid", "Amazing Grace" and "The Wind Beneath My Wings."Survivors include his loving wife of 15 years, Bonnie Bodin Thompson of Lafayette; two step daughters, Melissa Brignac Barthel and her husband, Kevin of Harahan, Louisiana and Lindsey Brignac Comeaux and her husband, Jerret of Lafayette; a sister, Candis Thompson; a brother, Chad Thompson and his wife, Cherry; two step grandchildren, Connor James Comeaux and Cole Michael Comeaux and a niece, Carliss Thompson.He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward Thompson I and the former, Carliss Lombardo.Mr. Thompson was a native of Beaumont, Texas and a resident of Lafayette, Louisiana for most of his life. He was a loving husband, stepfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. Mr.Thompson was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Broussard. He was an avid outdoorsman, particularly enjoyed hunting and fishing. Mr. Thompson was employed as a salesman in the oilfield and was also the former owner of Affordable Blinds and Shutters.Pallbearers will be Chad Thompson, Jerret Comeaux, Kevin Barthel, Ken Devalcourt, Ben Stonecipher, Patrick Gaubert, Glenn Guidry and Greg Munchrath.A Rosary will be prayed Thursday at 7:00 PM at Martin & Castille Funeral Home.The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's Southside location on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 8:00 AM until time of service.
