The Life of Mary Agnes Bardin
View Memorial TributeFuneral services will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at 1:00 PM in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille in Lafayette, for Mary Agnes “Tootsie” Bardin, 78, who passed away peacefully on Friday, March 13, 2009 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. Reverend Curtis Mallet, JCL, Pastor of St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lafayette, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lector will be Bonnie Broussard. Sherri Landry will sing for the services.
Survivors include five daughters, Bonnie Broussard and her husband Jerry of Lafayette, Christine Bardin and her fiancé Nick Chaisson of Lafayette, Sharon McDowell of Lafayette, Nancy Boudreaux of Lafayette and Angela Aybef and her husband Basem of Birmingham, AL; two sons, Michael Bardin and his wife Jackie of Tampa, FL and David Bardin of Lafayette; eighteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and one brother, Raymond Broussard and his wife JoAnne of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David “Pete” Bardin; and her parents, Charles and Eunice Picard Broussard.A lifelong resident of Lafayette, Mary Agnes Bardin, or “Tootsie” as she was commonly known, was a member of St. Genevieve and Our Lady of Wisdom Catholic Churches in Lafayette. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
Pallbearers will be David Bardin, Michael Bardin, Jerry Broussard, Basem Aybef, Matt McDowell and Benjamin Pok. Honorary Pallbearers will be Andrew Bardin, Ryan Bardin, Chris McDowell, Brandon Aybef, Nick Brown, Bertrand Broussard and Charlie Broussard.A Rosary will be prayed Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 11:00 AM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
