The Life of James Floyd Breaux Sr.

Funeral Services will be held at a 11:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, November 6, 2010 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for James Floyd Breaux, Sr., 76, who passed away on November 3, 2010 at 12:40 am at Lafayette General Medical Center. Reverend Steve Leblanc, Pastor of St. Pius X Catholic Church, will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Breaux, a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the son of the late Pierre Breaux and the former Mary Sellers, both of Lafayette Parish, Louisiana. He retired from Borden after 30 years of service with them. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #8901. He also worked for Took''s Meat Market until his sickness. He was an avid fisherman and he loved to bowl. He is survived by one son, James F. Breaux, Jr. and his wife Joan of Lafayette; three grandchildren, Phillip Breaux and his wife Rachelle of Lafayette, Jamie Breaux and his wife Brittany of Lafayette, and Lacy Breaux of Lafayette; three great grandchildren, Samantha Breaux, Dade Breaux, and John-Michael Breaux; one brother, Allen Breaux and wife Vivian of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Nelver C. Breaux, one sister, Mary Caroline Breaux, and two brothers, Peter Nicholas Breaux, and Donald Ray Breaux. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette on Friday from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm and on Saturday from 8:00 am until the time of services. A rosary will be recited on Friday evening at 7:00 pm by the Knights of Columbus. Pallbearers will be Phillip Breaux, Jamie Breaux, Mark Breaux, Joey Davis, Meridy Bergeron and Derick Menard. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, LA, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
