The Life of Mary Kathleen Edwards
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 16, 2007 at a 2:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Lafayette for Mary Kathleen Besh Edwards, 46, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.Jason Pennington, organist, accompanied by Melody Thibodeaux, soloist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "Prayer Of St. Francis", "I Am The Bread Of Life", and "Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee". Giftbearers will be Laura Ann Edwards, Jan Mickey, Sarah Chance, and Jennifer Boustany. Lectors will be Elaine Besh, Angela Besh, and Greg Thibodeaux. The Eulogy will be read by Laura Bell.Survivors include her beloved husband of 19 years, Nolan G. Edwards; one son, Nolan John Edwards, II; her parents, Theodore S. Besh, Jr. and Imelda Walters Besh; three sisters, Laura Bell and her husband, Tom, Elaine Besh, and Angela Harvey and her husband, Dale; two brothers, Stephen Besh and his wife, Emily and John Besh and his wife, Jenifer; her mother-in-law, Eleanor Edwards Merrill and her step father-in-law, Russ Merrill; two brothers-in-law, Byrne Edwards, and his wife, Mary Alice, Christopher Edwards and his wife, Laura Ann; one sister-in-law, Bridget Boustany and her husband, Charles; and nineteen nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Nolan John Edwards; and one niece, Emily Alice Edwards.Raised in Slidell, Louisiana and resident of Lafayette for over 28 years, Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She served as President of the Lafayette Parish Bar Auxillary Association, and volunteered at Our Lady Of Fatima Church and School. She will be dearly missed not only by family and friends, but by all of those whose lives she has touched throughout her nursing career.Pallbearers will be John Besh, Stephen Besh, Eric Boustany, Leonard Franques, Pat LeBlanc, and Jeffrey Joseph.A Rosary will be prayed on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at 6:30 PM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Lafayette.The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Friday from 10:00 AM until time of services.In lieu of flowers the family wishes that donations be made to the Kathleen Besh Edwards Memorial Scholarship, U.L.L.
