The Life of Lillian Harrison Mitchell

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, February 14, 2007 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Lillian Harrison DeMiller Mitchell, 82, who died Monday, February 12, 2007 in her home.

Reverend Larry Wilkes and Reverend Duane Petersen, of the Episcopal Church of the Ascension will officiate.

Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park.

Lillian was a native of Biloxi, Mississippi and had resided in Lafayette since 1951. She was the daughter of the late Reverend Edward A. DeMiller and Lillian Harrison Fletcher DeMiller.

Lillian was a devoted mother of six, a member of the DAR, Junior League, L''Avenier, and Krewe of Gabriel, among other organizations. She loved the many years she spent crabbing and fishing with her friends and family at their Cypremort Point camp known affectionately as the ''Damn Camp.'' She also enjoyed playing bridge and bouree with her dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Mims Mitchell, Jr.; son, Dr. Edward Lloyd Mitchell; daughter-in-law, Georgeann McLaughlin Mitchell; and grandchild, Molly Mitchell Begnaud.

Survivors include one brother, E.A. DeMiller, Jr. and two sisters, Katherine Renneisen and Julia Smith and husband, Forest ''Smitty'' Smith; her children, Mims Mitchell, III and his wife, Kitty, Mark Mitchell, Mimi Thibodeaux, Robert Mitchell and Susan Begnaud and her husband, Mark Begnaud; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mims Mitchell, IV, John Mitchell, Zachary Begnaud, Chad Booth, Terry Hughes, Nick Duhon, Mark Mitchell, Jr. and Noah Duhon. Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Mitchell and Ed Buttross.

The family would also like to thank the people who took good care of ''Maw Maw'', including Hospice of Acadiana, Dr. Albert Corne, Jr. and her caregivers, Ms. Agnes, Bobbie, Rose, Mary, Laura, Belle, Sylvia, Liz, Gaynelle and Judith.

Visiting hours will be observed Wednesday from 8:00 am until time of service.
