The Life of Raymond Richard Sr.
Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, September 19, 2007, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Breaux Bridge, for Raymond ""Frere"" Richard, Sr., 68, who passed away on Monday, September 17, 2007 at his residence in Lafayette.
Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Elder Paul Theriot, will conduct the service.
Mr. Richard was employed by John Chance & Associates as a civil engineer and mechanic for 30 years, and Service Chevrolet for 5 years as a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his dogs. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Mathilde Theriot Richard, of Lafayette; three sons, Raymond Richard, Jr., and wife, Marlene, of Carencro, Jason Richard and wife, Angela, of Broussard, and Kevin Richard and wife, Kimberly, of Breaux Bridge; one daughter, Tina R. Romero and husband, Ray, of Youngsville; one brother, Daniel Richard, of Carencro; five sisters, Artimese Lalonde, of Lafayette, Theresa Huval, of Duson, Lena Boudreaux, of St. Martinville, Elaine Latiolais, of Henderson, and Laura Lasseigne, of Arnaudville; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferrier and Julia LaGrange Richard; one grandson, Ryan Ross Richard; five brothers, Howard, Avie, Hilton, Irvin, Sr., and Milton Richard; and two sisters, Barbara Richard and Clemence Alleman.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday until time of service.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Richard, Jr., Jason Richard, Kevin Richard, Jason Richard, Jr., Derrick Richard, and Kasey Richard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ray Romero and Matthew Spiering.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice of Acadiana and Dr. Jason Landry, for the wonderful services they provided to him during his illness.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
