The Life of Rita Sophie Dutt
Lafayette - Funeral services will be held Friday, April 9, 2010, at 1:00 pm for Rita Dutt, 84, of Lafayette. She passed away on April 7, 2010 at Lafayette General Hospital.
Survivors include her loving husband, Donald, of 62 years; four sons, Douglas of Breaux Bridge, David of Lafayette, Daniel and his wife, Lisa, of Houston, Darrel and his wife, Jeanine, of Lafayette; two daughters, Lydia Schupbach and her husband, Larry, of Graham, Texas, and Lisa Prejean of Lake Charles. Rita had 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon and Louise LeBlanc; her sisters, Claire Koch and Elsie Wyatt; one son, Karl Dutt; and one grandchild, Lisanne Prejean.
A native of Lafayette, Rita graduated from Mt. Carmel High School and the Sisters of Charity Nursing School, New Orleans.
She enjoyed nursing and was employed by Hamilton Medical Group; and Lafayette General Hospital for 40 years. After retiring, she volunteered at Lafayette Community Health Care Clinic.
The family requests that visitation be observed at Delhomme Funeral Home, from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, with a rosary at 7:00pm, on Thursday, April 8, 2010. Friday, April 9, 2010, funeral services will include visitation at 11:00 to 1:00, mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm; interment will be at Lafayette Memorial Cemetery.
