The Life of Charles E Soileau

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Mr. Charles "Charlie" E. Soileau, 59, at 11:00AM on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Father Gary Schexnayder officiating. Father Steve LeBlanc will be the con-celebrant of the Mass. A rosary will be recited at 6:00PM on Monday, December 13, 2010 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Visitation will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 14, 2010 from 9:30AM until service time. Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Charles "Charlie" E. Soileau passed away suddenly on the morning of December 5, 2010, at Heart Hospital of Lafayette surrounded by his family. He was born on June 18, 1951 in Lafayette, LA. He is survived by his wife, Lindy Falgout Soileau; four children, Clelie Soileau and her husband Greg Wells of Lafayette, LA, Erinn Naquin and her husband Whitney Utter of Naples, IT, Kristen Naquin of Anchorage, AK, Matthew Soileau of Lafayette, LA; and his sister, Helen Soileau Dauphin and her husband Ed of Lafayette, LA. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Kathryn Soileau; his father, Willie "Bill" Soileau; and his mother, Beverly LeBlanc Soileau. Charlie was a respected attorney with a heart of gold and a jovial spirit. He was a devoted father, husband, brother, uncle and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by those of us fortunate enough to have been touched by his endearing, fun-loving and generous nature. With a Jurist Doctorate from Louisiana State University, Charlie practiced law for thirty-four years in Rayne, Louisiana (his second home). He was a member of: the Louisiana Bar Assoc, Acadia Parish Bar Assoc, the Bar Assoc of the U.S. Fifth Circuit, Fifteenth Judicial Bar Assoc, and Inn''s of Court. He was active in the City of Rayne Planning Commission (presently as Chairman), the 1983 Centennial Commission, Phi Kappa Psi, and the Lion''s Club for many years. We the family would like to extend our sincere appreciation to his fellow attorneys, colleagues, friends and the community for their benevolence through this difficult time. The love and support we have received are a testament to how dearly Charlie was loved. Pallbearers will be Francis Boustany, John Romagosa, Greg Wells, Kenny Dejean, Gary McGoffin, and Jonathan Falgout. Honorary pallbearers will be John McCarthy, Al Chauvin, Dennis Chauvin, Ronnie Chauvin, Jim Miller, Larry Richard, and his Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity Brothers.
