The Life of Benjamin Frederick Dawson

LAFAYETTE- Graveside services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at LAfayette Memorial Park for Benjamin Frederick Dawson who died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 at Southwest Medical center after a brief illness. Benjamin Frederick Dawson was born September 21, 1930, in Savannah, Montana to Desmond Broadus (Jack) Dawson and Mary Amanada Weddle Dawson. Ben and his wife, Sally Kay Kurz had been married for over 51 years. They moved to Lafayette, 43 years ago as Ben assumed the sales distributorship position with Hillyard Inc. of St. Joseph, Mo. During Ben''s 45 year tenure at Hillyard, he was twice named salesman of the year. Ben was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Moila Temple in St. Joseph, Mo. Survivors include his wife, and their two sons David F. Dawson, wife Danielle, of Lafayette and Daniel Robert Dawson, wife Jamie Boudreaux Dawson of Powder Springs, GA. Five grandchildren: Christopher Daniel and wife Adrienne, Cicely Catherine, John DAvid, Kelsey Michelle and Kaitlyn Mary, and one great-grandaughter Cicely Claire and a sister, Vernelle Gingg of PLeasant Hill, Calif. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Desmond and MAry Dawson; four siblings, Maxine Dawson Reeves, James Dawson, Eugene Dawson, and Jerry Dawson.
