The Life of Douglas James Touchet

A Mass of Christian Burial for Douglas James Touchet, 50, will be held Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville. Reverend Jason Mouton, Pastor of St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville will be Celebrant of the Mass and will officiate the funeral service. Vocal selections for the mass will be Amazing Grace, Ave Maria, Be Not Afraid and On Eagles Wings and will be performed by Jodi Bollich ; Readers will be Mark Mire and Brett Adams; Gift bearers will be Herman and Margaret Toups. Visitation will be held at David Funeral Home of Lafayette, 316 Youngsville Hwy. on Sunday, September 12, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. and will resume again, Monday, September 13, 2010 at 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. Visitation prior to the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday September 14, 2010 at St. Anne Catholic Church in Youngsville until time of service at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow services in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Douglas James Touchet was a native of Youngsville and resided in Erath. He was a great Husband, Son, Dad, Brother, Uncle, Brother-in –law, Son-in-law, Financial Advisor, Business Partner, Boss, Pilot and Hero. He graduated from Ovey Comeaux High School in 1978, where he played baseball. He attended college at the University of Southwestern Louisiana where he earned two degrees, B.S.B.A in Finance (1985) and B.S B.A. in Accounting (1989). He then worked for PHI and Langlinais and Broussard, CPA’s before starting his own firm, Douglas J. Touchet, CPA which became a great success. He has had many accomplishments in his life; one being fulfilling a life long dream to become a pilot. He was a very determined, self-motivated, funny man that took care of anyone who needed help. He had a smile and laugh that was absolutely contagious. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Susan Suire Touchet of Erath; his daughters, Francesca Nichol Touchet of Erath and Leigha Michelle Clayton also of Erath; mother, Etta Rita Broussard Touchet of Youngsville; brothers, Anthony Touchet and his wife Karen of Youngsville and Frank V. Touchet and his wife Carmen of Indian Bayou; sister, Annette T. Eschette and her husband, Louis of Youngsville; mother-in- law Verna Taylor of Pierre Part; three nephews ; 5 nieces and his canine companions, Abbie and Grayce. Mr. Touchet was preceded in death by his father, Frank Touchet; son, Nicholas James Clayton and his father-in-law Eugene Suire. Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Touchet, Bill Dondero, Chad LeBlanc, Frank Touchet, Randy Menard and Rajua Gharazedbine. Honorary pallbearers will be Luke LeBlanc, Aaron Touchet, Adam Touchet and Logan LeBlanc.
