The Life of Alice Maloney

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Alice S. Maloney, 91, who passed away on October 2, 2009 at 02:27 pm at her residence. Kevin Hall, Pastor of Victory Tabernacle Church of God, will conduct the funeral services. Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Maloney, born on May 31, 1918 in Judice, LA, and a resident of Lafayette, LA, was the daughter of the late Auguste Simon of Judice, LA and the former Helena Vincent of Maurice, LA who were descendents of pioneer families who immigrated from Penner, Bretagre (Brittany), France to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1785. She was a devoted member of Victory Tabernacle Church of God of Lafayette. She is survived by her three sons, Donald J. Maloney and his wife Suzanne of Beaumont, TX, Arthur J. Maloney, Jr. and his wife Rickie of Lafayette, LA, and James P. Maloney II and his wife Rachel of Atlanta, GA; her eight grandchildren, Christy Maloney Ferris, Lori Maloney Wood, Coleen Maloney Mowery, Pamela Maloney Mouton, Michael J. Maloney, Patrick J. Maloney, Katherine Maloney Tatum, Allyson Maloney Finland; seven great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law Esther M. Fisher, one brother-in law, Charles Meole as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur J. Maloney, Sr.; three brothers, Clarence, William and Dallas Simon; and three sisters, Estelle S. Broussard, and Helena S. Stutes and Lelia S. Hernandez and her step-mother Hilda Hebert Simon. The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Monday, October 5, 2009 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and will continue Tuesday at 9:00 am until the time of services at Delhomme Funeral Home of Lafayette. Pallbearers will be Michael Maloney, Patrick Maloney, Eric Mowery, Mark Mouton, Nicholas Finland, Rob Ferris. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nicholas Meole and Jerry Stagg. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her niece Rudell Stagg, Agnes Kilchrist and her staff as well as Hospice of Acadiana for all of their care and support during her time of need. Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
