The Life of Fred Anthony Roy

Funeral Services will be held at a 10:00 am Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, October 5, 2009 at St. Jules Church for Fred Anthony Roy, 65, who passed away on September 29, 2009 at 8:10 pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

Rev. Dan Edwards, Pastor of St. Jules Church , will be Celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services.

Burial will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Roy, a resident of Lafayette, was the son of the late Ben Joseph Roy and the former Ludie Hulin both of Lafayette. He was a graduate from Teurlings Catholic High School. He retired from Acadian Village after 15 years of service. Fred was a 4th Degree Knight with St. Jules Knights of Columbus Council #4683. Fred was special in many ways and loved people. He was a man of faith and prayer.

He is survived by three sisters, Fay Jackson and her husband Philip of San Antonio, TX; Sue Roy Borden and husband Andy of San Antonio, TX; and Lynn Roy of Breaux Bridge; eight nieces and nephews, Donna Ferchak, Dana Dupuis, Edith Jackson, Jade Saucier, Daniel Jackson, Tammy Saucier, Lelia Jackson, and Ben Henkes; seven great nieces and nephews, Ashlyn Montalbano, Trey Fournier, Haylee Lavan, Bryce Saucier, Mitchell Saucier, Claire Jackson, and Phil Jackson; and five great great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Sunday from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm and will continue on Monday from 8:00 am until service time. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm in the funeral home by the St. Jules Knights of Columbus Council #4683 .

Pallbearers will be Jade Saucier, Daniel Jackson, Ben Henkes, Trey Fournier, Bryce Saucier, Mitchell Saucier, and Phil Jackson.

Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
