The Life of Marjorie Lasseigne
Loving wife of 29 years and mother of two, Margie passed away at home on April 19, 2010 at 8:55 am after a long bout with Alzheimer''s. Born in Crowley, LA on February 19, 1941 to the late Jack and Marjorie Lawrence, she was married to the love of her life, the late Joe Lasseigne of Ville Platte, LA on April 30, 1967.
She is survived by her son, Danny Lasseigne of Lafayette, son Mike Lasseigne, his wife Sue and their child Jack of Houston, Texas, and a brother Jack Lawrence, Jr. and his wife Pat of Lafayette.
The family is extremely grateful for the tender, loving support of her caregivers over the years, but especially Mary Hornsby, Charlotte Johnson, and the late Frida Murphy.
A Celebration of Margie''s life is scheduled for 11:00 am on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at a Mass of Christian Burial in the Holy Cross Catholic Church. The Reverend Howard Blessing, Pastor of Holy Cross Catholic Church will celebrate the Mass. Interment will take place in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family request that any donations in Margie''s memory be made to the Alzheimer''s Association, 3717 Government Street, Ste. 7, Alexandria, LA, 71302 or to Heart of Hospice, 101 Parkwest Drive, Suite B, Scott, LA 70583.
Visiting hours are to be observed at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a rosary at 6:30 pm and will continue on Thursday from 8:00 am until the time of service.
Delhomme Funeral Home, 1011 Bertrand Drive, Lafayette, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
